8A RAIL Current Freight Services

If you are not familiar to Merseyside & North Cheshire, you will be surprised by the variety of 'freight traffic' which includes coal, steel, auto, f/liner, amongst others and numerous 'Enterprise' trippers which are still fortunately regularly hauled by Class 37's. Yes, you will see the 'red death' but will see daily appearances by Class 20, 47, 56, 57, 60, 86, 87, 90 & 92 in a wide variety of liveries. If your interest is purely photographic then you will not be disappointed by the different backdrops provided in the area from Dockland, Industrial to typical countryside with the numerous canals and rivers to add to the composition. Likewise, there are still pockets of traditional 'semaphore signals' and 'signal boxes' which always guarantee to provide interest.

Where is the information?

After over three years of providing freight timetable information via the "Current Freight Services" page covering Merseyside and North Cheshire, it has now been decided to indefinitely suspend this service. Unfortunately as other railway website providers have also found out, that too many enthusiasts are prepared to take the free information  available but NOT willing to pass on the "gen" as and when they receive it. Unfortunately, 8A RAIL is not prepared to spend further countless hours in continuing and updating this useful service on this basis.

However, if you require "freight" information etc, 8A RAIL recommends that you subscribe to "Freightmaster Online" which provides upto date information on the current UK workings. See below for further information:

If you want to keep up to date with the latest times for "United Kingdom" freight services including Merseyside & North Cheshire.
